So the story is.............. My brother spilled coke on the PC :( but fortunately it only damaged my graphic card other things some how are untouched by the coke and are working fine. I have send it for replacement just to try my luck but i know it will come back as it is with a note (do you think We are STUPID) So i am looking for a new single GPU card coz dual gpu card are way to expensive so i searched a bit did some research and got three names GTX 680 HD 7970 GHz edition and some said that HD 7970 overclocked performs equivalent to GHz edition so as always i came here in search for the ultimate answer..... THE END..... You can also suggest other cards if they perform better than these (but i dont wana go higher than 500$ in ur currency a lil bit higher or lower can work)

The performance between the GTX 680 and 7970 are fairly similar. It really just boils down to which games you play. Some are better optimized for Nvidia graphics and some for AMD.

As for the 7970 GHz vs 7970 OC, the GHz branding simply means it's a 1GHz card. OC can pretty much mean whatever the company wants it to mean as long as it's slightly overclocked from the factory. Even a 1MHz overclock can technically be called "OC". I've listed a couple of my top picks though.

Amazon.com: Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 OC with Boost 3GB DDR5 DL-DVI-I/SL-DVI-D/HDMI/DP PCI-Express Graphics Card 11197-03-40G: Computers & Accessories

Amazon.com: MSI N680GTX Twin Frozr 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 680 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Graphics Card: Electronics

Well if you play every game that comes onto the market, there's always some that will run better on AMD and some on Nvidia, so it's hard to say which one's better. In that case, I'd just go with the cheapest option. That said, since you do rendering, I think Nvidia is probably the way to go for you. A lot of video editing software such as AE, Premiere, Vegas, etc. can take advantage of Nvidia GPU's CUDA cores to help increase rendering speed - usually by a lot.

The GTX 670 is good. It's somewhere between 10%-15% slower than the GTX 680 depending on the game/overclock/workload. 12.5% fewer CUDA cores. GTX 680 CUDA Cores: 1536 GTX 670 CUDA Cores: 1344

Take it. The HD7850's performance is equivalent to the HD6950, but the HD7850 runs cooler and requires less power.
