    Corsair slowly updating their PSUs

Blog - The Corsair HX Series Power Supply Refresh: Going for the Gold! Blog - Corsair GS Series PSU Makeover I'm a bit late to the party... But this leaves the TX for Silver and the AX for Platinum.

honestly i think all the power efficiency rating are just for competition and a marketing scheme, i like how they are striving for better efficiency, but some companies bust go overboard on focusing soly on that and not the usability, kinda like a sports car isn't very practical.

I disagree. Efficiency = less heat, and they aren't just improving efficiency, they are also improving the PSU itself while the price stays the same. Also, saving a few watts could go a long way -- One more thing, is it my computer or is the enter button not working on this forum?

    I click mostly

but do you really have a PSU that is that loud anyway, the fans on them, i don't even know that they ever spin
yeah sure i'm all for power efficiency, but when you have a 800W system, you have already said you don't care too much about the cost..
all this planitnum shit too.. it's pointless.. and it costs you heaps, if it was $10 more rather than $100 sure, i'd jump at that, but right now it's like ssd's were 2 years ago..

Well I don't have a standard ATX PSU, I have a ITX PSU with a 80mm fan that does get quite loud, but I'm guessing we're all talking about regular ATX PSUs :P I do agree that Platinum is overpriced but Corsair will most likely upgrade the AX to Platinum with little to no cost so... everybody wins

i have a mate with a 80mm fan in his PSU in a pc, it's one of 2 fans in the system, and it pushes as much air as a 120mm fan, it's like a jet taking of, also the psu isn't very well mounted so you get vibrations and fluctiations in the sound coming from the fan..
