Hello, proper newb here I'm afraid. Since I'm on a budget I have decided to custom build rather than buy an already built machine. To further save some cash I am wanting keep components from my current PC (Hard drive, DVD/CD drive and graphics card - nvidia quadro 1700 fx).
I'm looking at an i5 and 8gb ram (perhaps the potential to increase) but not sure what components I need.
I have a budget of £300, which I understand is low... Can anybody help me out please :-)
I have been told that I can use my current case and power supply as it works fine with my graphics card... Is this true?

Reason: new advice
Can you link us to the website you're buying from? Since you use pounds, I suspect that you live in the UK. If your case supports ATX mobos, then yes. If your PSU has a 24-pin connector and isn't made from a cheap company, then yes. Please list all of your parts you plan to re-use.
